I'm all for anything that generates more interest in passenger rail, but I'm more interested in the more traditional high-speed rail projects underway in California and being explored in Virginia/North Carolina. Perhaps that's the more conservative approach, but either way, the more grants going toward any sort of passenger rail — whether public or private companies, or MagLev or traditional high-speed rail — is good for passenger rail in general.
