One of my favorite ballparks! I'll be taking the MARC train right to Camden station for a game next week, and I'm excited to see the transit-baseball crossover in action.
While Citizens Bank Park in Philly is in the Stadium Complex (across from the Philadelphia Eagles and Sixers/Flyers stadiums) and has one of the largest masses of parking lots around, it ALSO is at the end of a subway line AND has busses and the Indego Bike service (our Citi Bike) there as well. Plus there's massive sidewalks, so I think it's actually quite walkable and it should be ranked higher on the score list here. It's extraordinarily easy to take the subway to a game or even walk, both of which it's done way too many evenings/afternoons other my 20+ years in Philly.
Thanks for reading, and go Phillies! I've taken that train to Citizens Bank or Lincoln Financial a couple times. I think the lower walkability score comes down to the fact that it is in the middle of a massive parking lot, and the walk from say Chickie's and Pete's for a beer before the game can be done β it's just that that walk, wide sidewalks or not, isn't the most glamorous (i.e., you're clearly in a place designed for cars, not pedestrians). That said, I've had a couple fun nights in South Philly not too far from the ballpark, so the fact that it's connected to other neighborhoods is a big plus.
Let's go O's! βΎπ¦ββ¬π§‘ Need to increase the walkability score here in Baltimore, but was very happy to see green. Great read as always!
